Love Island viewers couldn’t help but feel for presenter Maya Jama as she struggled to keep her composure due to the harsh winds.

The 28-year-old was presented live from South Africa during Monday night’s show as the final was underway.

Before Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan were announced our 2023 winners however fans were a little distracted by the noise of the intense weather.

After Maya gushed at the remaining couples declaring their love for one another, she joked: ‘I’m in my feels literally there’s tears, maybe it’s the wind, I dunno.’

Fans also claimed the sound made the last episode a little difficult to watch.

‘The way the wind is blowing them sparklers. Please fire fighters better be close,’ one person tweeted.

This wind is absolutely sending me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 they look so annoyed with the wind #loveisland

‘Who else can almost feel the wind through the screen?’ another added.

‘There is no need for them to be fighting the wind like this,’ a third person tweeted.

Ferocious weather aside, this didn’t rain on Kai and Sanam’s parade as they were crowned our series nine champions.

Following Will Young and Jessie Wynter’s dumping in the semi-final, the finalists consisted of Kai and Sanam, Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins, Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga, and Tom Clare and Samie Elishi.

Love Island fans were equally as thrilled, after championing Kai and Sanam for the win for weeks.

‘WE DID IT GUYS WE MADE KANAM WIN’, one Twitter user celebrated.

‘YES the right couple won!’, exclaimed another.

Getting all emotional over the teacher and social worker’s connection, one fan penned: ‘They’re such a stunning couple, congratulations to Sanam & Kai. The best couple won. It’s not about how long you’ve been together but genuine chemistry & connection. I hope your love continues to grow!’

Love Island is available to stream on ITVX.
